A friend and I dressed up as Saudi's for an outing in the desert.
View from the hospital overpass of the main enterance. Do you like the palm trees? I thought they were quite nice. The hospital compound looks really green. But it's deceptive. The rest of the city and country are not like that. The sprinkler system is quite extensive, and they work very hard to keep the vegetation from drying-up. During the hottest months of summer, there is a water ration and the main hospital fountain is turned off. They also limit the times where we can use water in our apartments.

Great pics, Tara. It's so strange to see you in a burka (or abaya? I always get them mixed up - which is the dress and which is the veil?).
